Day 1: Kathmandu

Apply for Chinese Visa on Monday Early morning.

Day 2: Kathmandu

Visit to Pashupatinath Temple and other temples.

Day 3: Kathmandu

Local sightseeing.

Day 4: Kathmandu to Rasuwagadhi

130 Kms 5 Hrs Drive : Get the group visa, time may vary depending on the administrative procedures. Drive towards the border directly. If delay in getting the visa, may need to stay overnight on the road. Continue to drive next day.

Day 5: Gyirong

Enter the Gyirong border, complete the entry process, and stay overnight at Gyirong Town.

Day 6: Gyirong to Tingri

340 KMs 5.5 Hrs Drive : Drive to Tingri, by passing the Peikucuo Lake on the road.

Day 7: Tingri to Mt. EBC, Lhazte

270 KMs 7 Hrs Drive : Drive to Lhatze, make a detour to Everest Base Camp.

Day 8: Lhazte to Lhasa

420 KMs 5 Hrs Drive : Complete the license process, and visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery if time permits. It is an historically and culturally important monastery in Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. Founded in 1447 by the 1st Dalai Lama, it is the traditional monastic seat of the Panchen Lama. Drive to Lhasa.

Day 9: Lhasa

Drop off day: •Lhasa: Visit to Potala palace, Jokong monastery, Barkhor Street. Etc.

Day 10: Lhasa to Nagqu

340 Kms 7 Hrs Drive : Drive to Nagqu.

Day 11: Nagqu to Tuotuohe

430 Kms 8.5 Hrs Drive : Long driving day, and drive over the Tanggula Pass, Tuotuohe Railway Station : it is a small town where the source of Yangzi river ( China's longest mother river) is located aside.

Day 12: Tuotuohe to Golmud

430 Kms 8 Hrs Drive : Drive to Golmud. Enjoy the spectacular landscape of Qinghai-Tibet highland on the road.

Day 13: Golmud to Dunhuang

560 Kms 7.5 Hrs Drive : Drive to Dunhuang, a famous city for ancient silk road.

Day 14: Dunhuang to Hami

400 Kms 6 Hrs Drive : Drive to Hami, enjoy the silk road experience.

Day 15: Hami to Turpan

60 KMs 1 Hr Drive : Exit China to Kazakhstan.

Day 18: Horgos to Almaty

330 KMs 4 Hr Drive : Almaty from Horgos after border crossing.

Day 19: Almaty to Korday

210 Kms 3.5 Hrs : Border crossing from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan.

Day 19: Lugovoye to Bishkek

24 Kms 35 Min Drive : After the border crossing, visit Burana tower and stay at Bishkek.

Day 20: Bishkek to Song Kul Lake

400 Kms 7 Hrs Drive : Visit to Issykul Lake and Song kol lake (Bagysh).

Day 21: Song Kul Lake to Osh

Chasing Sunsets shall not be responsible for any delays and alterations in the schedule and expenses incurred either directly or indirectly due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, injury or damage to person/property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation dangers, fire, accident, bad weather, landslides, political closures, breakdown in vehicles, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, violation of custom/road department regulations, defaults, any untoward incidents or other services resulting either directly or indirectly from any act of GOD and any other causes beyond our control....

Chasing Sunsets do not provide insurance to cover the expenses incurred towards accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Participants are advised to obtain appropriate and adequate insurance coverage/policy in their home country before starting the journey. It is the responsibility of the participant to take care of all baggage & personal belongings.

All the participants are advised to drive carefully and strictly adhere to the road safety rules and regulations prevailing in that country. Never go beyond the stipulated speed range even though roads are good. Any violations in safety rules attract heavy fines and may have to face the legal action. The cost of medical treatment is exorbitant if met with an accident in other countries. Hence, advised to read the road safety rules and regulations of destination countries before you start your journey.

All the participants should accept terms and conditions of Chasing Sunsets and should not claim any compensation from the Organizers. Participants are solely responsible for the damages and legal complications arising during their journey. All the participants are expected to obey the time to time commands from convoy leader. All the participants should drive together always and should not breakaway from the convoy. All the vehicles should stay between the lead and sweep vehicles and should not bypass other convoy vehicles without the permission of the convoy leader except in case of emergency. In case of emergency, convoy leader should be contacted immediately.
Convoy leader will brief the participants every night about next day’s plan such as assembly time, departure time, stops for bio break, coffee break, fueling, destination etc. All the vehicles must stop together even if participants of one vehicle are not interested to take a break. All the participants should be ready to start the journey everyday morning as per the instructions of Convoy leader. If instructions are not followed, then he reserves the right to disqualify the participants of that particular vehicle and leave them behind and continue the journey.

This is only an estimated cost and the price may increase or decrease depending on the ground situation in the respective country.
Note: Participants are instructed to pay the money directly to the concerned authority/agency except for Backup vehicle, Carnet Fee, China Permission cost, and MTR instant food charges, which should be paid directly to the coordinator.

Inclusion:

  • Customs permission for vehicles (Carnet)
  • All VISAs with Visa fees, Travel Insurance
  • Accommodation will be arranged in decent hotels with twin/triple sharing basis. While travelling through countryside in different countries, booking the hotel is a tough task in smaller towns which is again subjected to availability. However, every effort will be made to book the hotel en-route. Hence, it is advised to book the expedition well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
  • Border crossing assistance (immigration and customs clearance)
  • Backup vehicle with crew and First Aid kit, Tools kit, Water, Instant veg food throughout the expedition etc.,
  • All Permits and Permissions according to the norms and Regulations applicable in all countries en route
  • We will provide instant Veg foods like MTR Puliogare/Lemon rice/Tomato rice/Poha/Upma, tea, lemon tea, coffee, Amul buttermilk during the expedition

Exclusion:

  • Vehicle, Toll charges and Parking charges for vehicle en route
  • Food other than what we provide. (Almost all hotels offer free breakfast)
  • Vehicle servicing, towing, shipping, repairs, traffic fines any other penalties etc.,
  • Any medical expenses incurred during the trip
  • Personal expenditures
  • Any cost arising out of unforeseen circumstances like ill health, border crossing problems, vehicle breakdown, repairs, damage occurring from land blocks and bad weather etc.,
  • Any cost arising due to change of rules at the time of entering the specific country.
  • Vehicle Handling and Customs Clearance charges In London and Mumbai Port
